The first launch.
WhisperType is not yet code-signed, so Windows and macOS each stop it once.
Windows
If SmartScreen says “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, then Run anyway.
Mac
Drag WhisperType onto the Applications folder, then eject the disk. On macOS 15 and later, the first open says Apple could not verify WhisperType is free of malware. Click Done, not Move to Trash. Then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the message about WhisperType, click Open Anyway and confirm.
On macOS 14 or earlier, right-click WhisperType in Applications, choose Open and confirm. Open Anyway in Privacy & Security works there too.
Each new version you download asks once more. Then follow the setup guide.
Checking a download
Compare the SHA-256 above with the file you got. Windows: certutil -hashfile WhisperType-Setup-1.4.1.exe SHA256. Mac: shasum -a 256 WhisperType-1.4.1-arm64.dmg.
