Terms of Service

1. The trial and subscription

New users get a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start; an email address is required to activate the trial. We limit each trial to one email address and one machine — see the Privacy Policy for what that requires us to collect.

After the trial, continued use requires an active WhisperType subscription, billed at $9.00 USD per month unless a different price is shown at checkout. Once subscriptions open, a subscription renews automatically each billing period until you cancel. WhisperType has no free tier: if your trial ends without a subscription, or your subscription lapses, the app stops running. Subscriptions are not open yet; until they are, nobody is charged, and you can email hello@whispertype.ai to hear the day they open. A subscription is verified online about once a day; after 3 days without a connection the app locks until it can verify again.

2. License

While your trial or subscription is active, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use WhisperType on one active machine at a time, for your own use.

3. Permitted use

• You may install WhisperType on one active machine at a time under your trial or subscription.
• You may deactivate and move your license to a different machine.
• You may use WhisperType for personal or business dictation workflows, subject to applicable law.

4. Prohibited use

• No resale, sublicensing, or redistribution of the software unless we explicitly authorize it in writing.
• No reverse engineering, decompiling, or bypassing licensing protections except where local law clearly permits it.
• No creating multiple trials for the same person via different emails or machine identities to extend free use.
• No unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent use of the product or payment systems.

5. Payments, billing, taxes, and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe, which handles your payment details; WhisperType never sees your card number. Pricing, recurring billing, taxes, and refunds may be handled through its systems. Cancellation and refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy unless otherwise required by law.

6. Product availability

We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We aim to keep WhisperType stable and useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every device, microphone, operating system version, or third-party app. macOS is currently a public beta and may be less stable than Windows.

7. No warranty

WhisperType is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WhisperType and Kenji Larrazabal (sole proprietor) will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or business interruption arising from your use of the product.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Peru, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction applies otherwise.
