WhisperType v1.0.0 is live

v1.0.0 is our first stable release. Press F8, speak, press F8 again — your words land in the active window. Everything runs locally: faster-whisper on GPU (with automatic CPU fallback), 100+ languages, and audio that never leaves your machine.

Note, October 2026: Since 1.2: Auto (English/Spanish) plus 12 languages, picked in Settings. The GPU used is an NVIDIA card on Windows or Apple Silicon on a Mac.

Shipped in this release: AI Polish (opt-in local Ollama or OpenAI), custom Dictionary for proper nouns, text Snippets, searchable Transcription History, an 8-screen onboarding wizard with mic calibration, a self-healing hotkey watchdog, hot-plug mic recovery, and single-instance launch lock.
